transmission noise!!

I did not remove the battery box. The motor has just enough room to slide past. Just go slow and make sure no wires get trapped.

ok Jake here is a new one for you I removed the oil sending unit( not too easy) at the top of the cylinder
"head. warp 9.9 warned me and he was right any way done I also had to unbolt the rear brake line from M/C as it was rubbing . I disconnected spark plus leads managed to get a modified spanner on the nut of the rear left engine mount and removed that and I loosened the front engine mount looked all around and started dropping the hydraulic jack under the engine ... motor goes down 4 inches no more and I cannot see what is holding it up there?? mystery?? any one can think of something I did not unhook

Can you post some walk around pictures? Is the back of the head hitting anything on the frame. Let me go down and stair at mine a while.

Pat, I just went down stairs and stuck a 17 mm wrench on the left hand upper motor mount bolt on mine which is not even torn down. Of course the infill panel is off. 17 mm 12 point. feels a little loose like it might be 16 mm but I did not have one on hand. Most likely its in the garage and I am in my house coat. I will see if I can find one once I get my uniform on. This would be the only time I do not always use a 8 point wrench. Anyway it just has to hold it long enough to bust it loose. then you can hold it with you finger. Let me iron my uniform and I will see if I have time to round up a 16 mm wrench.
got the motor to slide down 4 inches but no more some thing is holding it what ? mystery

I am looking all around and obviously missing something but I cannot see what I will take some pics and post them in 10 mn.

currently the motor is supported by the jack without it goes another inch or two further down

Just a thought the radiator is bolted up top on the frame and then down on the bottom on the motor. It might be stopping it from Tilting more. I wish Fred would chime in as he just did his. Let me give him a call and see if he is still up.

10 pm here I will definitively look at the radiator tomorrow I will saty on a bit longer on the site then go to dreamland..

Ok I talked to Fred and he will be along shortly. So here we go you are going to have to pull your radiator and the hoses because as you lower the engine the top radiator hose is trying to pull the radiator back thru the frame and the lower hose is not long and flexible. When you go to drain it just pull the water pump cover and leave the lower hose hooked to the radiator and pump cover. You can pull the front fender from the top without pulling the wheel as its getting might close to things. just loosen the calipers then the fender bolts and pull it up and forward. pull the radiator then the throttle bodies by the two bolts for and aft. and you can tie the throttle bodies up on the handle bar and you can leave the throttle cables hooked up to them. You will also have to pull the oil filter as when the engine is at full tilt it will hit the tire. An d make sure you disconnect the negative battery cable from the engine block. I will check in the AM and see what Fred added to this while I am having my cup of coffee. Your doing good though. From the looks of it to me your a natural at this.

Looks like your coming right along Patrick ! I removed my radiator. You should pull the shrouds, my bet is the hoses are holding things up. I think the radiator will have to come out. The oil filter has to come off if it's not already. It will run into the front tire. That will give you an idea of just how far down it has to swing. I also unbolted my throttle bodies and lifted them up and zip tied them to the frame. You shouldn't have to unhook any wires, cables or hoses. Also the ground cable from the battery bolts on the back of the engine near the starter. That has to come off also.
