tranny problems? maybe?

So, I'm another one, 2014 Roadster, kicking out of second at any significant amount if throttle.

Is there a guide for this fix anywhere?

Glad you mentioned that Mitzzy, after a bit of research, I suspect the problem was likely started those 1 or 2 times when I didn't firmly kick the lever into second and it popped out when the bike was brand new. From there I suspect it started an accelerated wear scenario leading to where it is now, completely rounded 2nd gear dogs/output gear.

Have a request in to see how much under cutting the 2nd gear dogs and output gear will cost. If it's not terrible, I'll order new gear/dogs, have them undercut, and have them installed when they do the warranty repairs.

All this ****, literally 2 days before I am paying for my big power upgrade.... so gutting to realize now some asshat Harley mechanic impersonating a Triumph tech is going to totally disassemble my bike because I don't have a garrage. I just know it's going to come back changed and something isn't going to be the same,

OK you know those HARLEY mechanics are gong to fall in love with the Rocket once they ride one they want one never fails

Well, looks like today is going to be spent removing mods and putting the bike closer to stock so I can drop it off, oh joy.

Try cruising along at 50-60mph in 5th gear, then with one swift, as fast as you can, movement, rip it all the way to WOT. If the engine speeds up before the bike does then your clutch is slipping. If that is the case then, with a little bit of luck, it may only be a clutch free-play adjustment.
TRY wot at 5500 rpm in 5th as the engine will be making more HP and there is more wind resistance and like IDK said check your clutch adjstment

Triumph Rocket 3 issues with kit bearings etc.

I have been dealing with this at 57,000k's just this week. Yes, its low mileage and yes the noise of this has been with this bike since about 2006. I brought it to Triumph's attention back then and they assured me that should the bike bearing ever fail they would replace it at no cost. Now that its about to, they Triumph Australia have backed out of the deal. Pissed off! The bike has low miles because I have many bikes. Yes, it’s now 12 years old but little use. Today Triumph Australia agreed to supply the Kit part number T1000009 at $500.00 and not cover ANY labour costs. (Told me the kit was worth $2600) (From another forum the kit contains: in the kit :

smaller detent arm

2´gear goes from 8 engaging dogs, to 4

Spark plugs changes from dpr8ea-9 to dpr7ea-9

new fuel sensor

new sealing washers for oil tank

new cam chain guide

plus some minor wiring work)

I am pretty pissed off that what was always said to me that would happen at their cost is now an issue. They also want me to drag the bike to one of their own dealers and ours up here on the coast has crap mechanics so it’s off to deal with Bike Biz in Sydney in the morning. We shall see how this goes. Shall stay in touch on this issue. Has anyone else been affected by this "recall" and how have Triumph handled it? Much appreciated.

The update kit has a lot more than just that. Give me your e-mail address and I will send to the file listing everything in it. $500 bucks is a great price as $2,500 is more realistic now days.

If you have this in writing I would be putting this under their nose and insist they honor it.

Most likely your dogs rounded off, mine did the same thing, I described it as a skip, ended up eating the whole transmission, circlip came out and it locked in multiple gears at once.
