2011 Roadster
Hello, some of you may remember me from last July. Long story short, I wrecked and had to rebuild my 2011 Roadster engine.

Well, today I finished. When I tried to start, the battery was dead. Not a big surprise; I wrecked almost a year ago.

So I tried to jump start using my buddy's truck. The starter solenoid clicked a couple times, but would not spin. We pulled the starter off and tried to bench test it, but still could not get the motor to spin. We can get the solenoid to engage and pop the shaft out, but it will not spin. We even pulled the starter apart, and everything looks to be in working order; nothing burnt up, nothing worn down... it looks brand new on the inside.

Any ideas? Any help is appreciated!

Update.

Today, my beautiful motorcycle started!!!

However, I'm still having issues. The starter will not engage until the power has been on for a few minutes. Anyone else have this issue?

Glad to hear that you are back up and going.

It sounds like a loose ground (earth as you guys would call it). Have you removed and cleaned the lower part of the negative battery cable where it connets to the block?

It's consistent.

Whatever the issue is, it's consistent. The power and kill switch must be on for a certain amount of time before the bike is allowed to start. I haven't timed it, but it's about 1-2 minutes every time.
