Sloppy second(s)!?!

Hey Techno, you're the one who resurrected a 3 year old thread. The response seemed to me to be both light hearted and helpful ie. delve again into the archive but look for something that Stripes posted. Knowing someone solved the problem before is actually good to know. I'd say it's possible that it's easier to remember there is an answer than necessarily to remember what it was. The forum is was it is my friend. You have to learn how to make the most of it. And maybe get some enjoyment out of it too.

Sorry for not updating this thread. Shortly after my post, I took my bike to Baxter's and Gus did an upgrade kit. While there Gus slipped in my set of Nev cams I had bought a year earlier. Good opportunity that worked out well for a change.

Stripes if your game, would you pass on the approximate costs to have the gear upgrade done and cam chain tension-er removed and replaced. Does anyone know of a shop around Lexington Kentucky that has experience and can perform this up-grade? Thanks GW

upgrade

The upgrade was free. Triumph picked up the bill. My cams cost ~$1000 from Neville. Gus put them in for free because he was doing the 10000 mile check and the bike was already apart. When I left I slipped Gus a Ben Franklin for his hospitality. (He let me spend the night on his couch.)

Everybody needs to make a trip to Baxter's if for no other reason than to check out all the vintage brit scooters and massive amount of old parts. .... and to meet Gus (quite a character).

I did resurrect a 3 year old thread, no doubt about it. However, the apparent solution was not in the thread, so I asked again, to see if there was a more recent or accurate answer. Just because someone had the problem 3 years ago, doesn't negate the problem from every happening again, does it? If the answer to the issue was in the thread, I wouldn't needed to post in the first place.

Not sure why this is hard to understand? I saw the thread, no obvious or tangible solution offered in the thread, I posted my problem as it was relevant, and then I get flamed (in jest or not).

I don't mind the jokes, I don't mind the banter, I'm happy to target and be targeted but certainly there are more appropriate threads to do it other than EVERY thread. In the end, I am still seeking information from my fellow captains about what they know or what experiences they share that is relevant to my issue contained within this thread. Am I asking too much?

Stripes, thanks for the updates to your posts.

You're right - mostly. I didn't see any responses not aimed at helping you, though, and I didn't see any "flaming". Sorry you seem to have taken offence.
Hope you get the info to solve the problem, mate. No harm intended.
