Seat carving

I think for stability and support I'd get one rectangular plate turned perpendicular wise and rivet that...bending and shaping as needed so it will look good with the foam and covering added.
 

6'with 29" inseam??

I'm 6' with a 34" inseam

No wonder it's difficult for manufacturers to get seat height "right"
 
I knew I wouldn't have the skill he does,he has 30 years in upolstering. Upon speaking with him personally,seeing his work up close,it was a no brainer I wanted him to do my seat. IMHO, pm @canecorso ,ship him your seat in winter,and get him to duplicate what he did to mine. He is a good man,who actually cares about ensuring his customer is happy with what they have given him to do,there are still people like that left in this world,he is one of them.
 
When I saw the prices on Corbin and Day Long I figured I could screw things up quite a few times before I came close to that price. I like what he did with your seat but I'm going to mess with mine until I get it perfect for me. I went on a ride yesterday and know I want to round out the back edge some more. I'm considering making my own seat pan as well but that will be a project for a different day.

I do my best and I'm glad your happy with your seat and any time in the future any problem like I said I'll make it right , the gell is a life time guarantee it will not dry up or leak and it will keep its comfort through the cold or the extreme heat. I put on an expensive leather on and will not crack .

The seat still feels good but the floor pad I used for padding has moved around. I have some memory foam I want to try and cut up and see how that works out.
 
You can go to Home Depot and get glue for foam called feather spray its in a spray can, it's not as good as industrial glue for foam but it's not bad just spray both sides a lot wait until sticky and it will glue the foam on and will not move. Keep at it your get it But don't for get to post your master piece, we all need to start some where.
When I was 15 and I did my first chair I almost got fired, but he seen some potential in me lol
