Am wondering if anyone on the East Coast can help me. Some arsehole put sand in my oil tank & I've blown the engine. I was only doing about 40 km/h at the time but still made a death rattle of a noise when it stopped. I'm trying to find a mechanic who's good with the Rocket 3 & is looking for a bit of a challenge. Interested in pulling the engine apart to see if it is salvageable. I have a 2010 Rocket Roadster with about 11,000 k's on the clock so would like to rebuild if possible.

Cheers, chevy400

:eek:Holy Crap!!! man that's bad luck!! got any idea who did it ?? are in the States or Auss

Wow, quick reply there hanso. Sorry bout that, yeh I'm in Mildura, Vic. The fella's getting charged soon. Happened way back in Feb, long story, but after repairing the slashed seat & replacing the spark plug leads that were cut I finally got to start the bike & "bang". Wasn't insured (my stupid fault on that one). Really want to rebuild but not sure which way to go. Got a couple of good back yarders here but they say it's too big of a job for em (close to retiring).

Welcome to the site Chevy. What a way to introduce yourself, that completely sucks.
Any one who put sand/dirt in anyones engine needs F*cking and their clothes burnt!!!!!
What a blow, I assume you are in the US???
I am sure someone will chime in and offer some help or possible solution.

I would check with your insurance company, it might be covered (Malicious Damage)

Sorry to hear of your engine

Not going to ask what you did to have someone do that to your bike .... I'd look into an engine flush and then sell it  . Only being honest.
