Skip & DustyRose are still IN.
ain't worried about some lame assed harley deal.
They got their ride, we got ours.
Two different motorcycles,
Two separate parties,
Two seperate rides.
I couldn't care less.
JM2CW,
skip
Besides, we couldn't change it now even if we wanted to,
the patches and pins have the dates and location on them.
I'm in.
It's strange, on their list of rides, they don't have the Dragon listed...
But they do have Grandfather mountain. Anychance of heading there one day Steve?
I just found out the thunder in the smokies bike rally that was scheduled for the weekend of the 29th has just been moved to the weekend of the 13th .... the rally will be directly across the street from motel.
This will cause several challenges
1) the area will be very busy because of the rally (Lots Of traffic)
2) Any additional Room reservations above the ones already blocked will be at premium Rate. (We have 2 rooms Left in the block across the street)
3) restaurants and Businesses will be very busy.
The question to the group is do we stay with the dates we have scheduled or attempt to move the event to another weekend. This will have to be a unanimous decision.
Keep the date. 50% of then will be wrenching on their scoots The other 50% will have engine envy and ride somwhere we are not. There is a South Park cartoon about loud HD riders . We are TRIUMPH riders and go our own way don't we? Steady boys, steady we shall not wither in the face of their cannons, charge !!!!!!!!! Rainman, bring the flag.
Okay everyone calm down the Great Scotsman has the answer.
No booze not one drop, we all go to bed (not the same bed) by 8pm and get up at 3am to start our rides, that way we are out of the way before the loud pipes start coming to life.
Now am I smart or what.
I see that the "Myrtle Beach Bike Week" runs from May 13-22nd at Murrels Inlet, etc. Lots of V-twins will head that direction including some boys I know from up in Ohio. Asheville, NC is having a Bikefest the same weekend as well, maybe we should crash that party.
I kind of thought everyone would still be in... but wanted to be courteous and let you all know. does not bother me a bit more people to party with. I have been to this rally several it is small and tame so should not be any problem.
Ok next on the agenda is the food I have made contact with the new owner of the holiday diner to determine the cost and feasibility of them catering Saturday and Sunday evening. I will be doing the food on friday night.
Breakfast - The holiday diner will be open for breakfast everyday - there will be no buffet but you can order off the menu.
there will be planned lunch stops on the daily ride which will depart at 9:00am
I will attempt to get the food finalized by end of next week. Then we can focus on the planned rides.
Poor Iglo won't know which way to go. With ther big bad HD crowd or the mild mannered Triumph people. I'll be there. What we did last year was great with the food.
