Rocket III Roadster tank swap and other mods

Sixty8 custom T100 carby accessory range from Triumph had these tank covers in about 8 versions from memory. Very expensive when new but now can be found as new Old Stock and this one is a steal!

Just reviving an ancient thread to see if anyone has done a tank swap of any kind? I am just looking at doing something similar and don't want to re-invent the wheel ... err .... tank

A mate of mine used a Victory tank, haven't caught up in a while but will take pics when I do

That looks really good on the old Rocket - I love it! I am guessing that it is from a Victory Kingpin (or similar) Do you have any details about the mods required to fit etc?

Mate sent me the photo's (actually his wife as he doesn't use a phone ) but I know he cut the bottom off the rocket tank & welded it onto the victory.
 
I see some conflicting reports about swapping tanks with a Touring model - I have just tried one on my 2005 and it looks like it might fit.
A bit more research and it appears that this might be from a later Roadster circa 2016ish - a little smaller and with a different kind of fuel level sensor, otherwise exactly the kind of shape I am looking for my custom build (apart from the dents)
