Opinions wanted....since the charcoal gray I could get is darker than the tank, should I leave well enough alone with it just on the back tail where it isn't that noticeable? Or follow the tank scheme on the front fender as well?

What front/forwards control pegs are those?
some fastway pegs I had on my Husky TE 610. Fastway Evo 4 Footpegs by Pro-Moto Billet I've since put the stockers back on there. I tried them to help keep my feet more "glued" on at speed. But now I put my feet in the mid position at highway speeds. That also helps keep wind from riding up the "ramp" of my lower leg that I get with my feet in the forward position.

Any chance you could post up the dimensions and angles for the brackets for the mid mount pegs, and is there a way to have them stay up if your not using them, or are they always down. I always figured something like what you have done would be great for long runs without having to buy the whole kit if you don't want the shifter and brake moved back, like you I have to put a foot on the passenger peg for a bit of comfort on a long trip

I used 1/4"x1 1/4" flat steel. I wouldn't know how to tell you the angles and such. I just started bending and trying. Put it in the vise and smashed it with a lump hammer. Sometimes heating with a Ox.acet. torch if the bend needed to be tight. Really just trial and error until it fit. I used whatever bolts and tappings were near where I wanted the pegs. I used the kickstand mounting bolts on the left side. A spacer and longer bolts. This is what I settled on. Its like floor boards across the pegs. They are fixed and don't fold up. So I have to be careful leaning in turns.
