Interesting, I've never heard of scamadviser before good info!

I think one of the things that surprises me about this Ramair potential knock off thing is that the market is so small it seems like a poor candidate for making a fake one.

This certainly stacks up poorly with the price though.

Hey guys,

Would it be possible that there is such a thing as a Ramair knock off...

Ramair Filters TR-111 Kit Filtre à Air [12WEuB0508230] - €27.13

The crank filter and cable look very slightly different than the picture on Ramair's website. I know there can be manufacturing differences over the course of several years but this is also WAY cheaper than from anywhere else.

Edit since initial post:
For clarity I am asking because I am trying to figure out if a previous owner had installed a knock off Ramair on the bike I now own. The thing that first drew my attention to the possibility was when I swapped out a broken crank breather. It looked different than the one pictured on Ramair's website and this is the only source I could find that had a picture that looks like the crank breather I have (hard plastic coated metal top).
Same as the one I got for more than double that price direct from Ramair

What do you know. I thought I found a steal here:

Do you think this is a knock off, too? I tried ordering about 5 times, but my credit cards would not clear my cards security check. Never got past past the payment part and still have about 5 "Pending" orders on the website.

Never really confirmed that the one i found was a knock off, heads up.

Also does it bother anyone else that Scam Adviser is spelled differently on their page vs the url? Just saying

If it’s a .top URL it’s automatically suspect.

Zero exceptions until proven otherwise. .top is a domain masking strategy of sorts that has legit uses but is being abused. Any webshop listed as .top is almost certainly a scam. They’re used for scams because almost any url you would want is cheap as chips on .top so throw away websites are like $4 a year, just ignore it.

These aren’t knock off parts, they’re buyer scams, you’ll send card details and get nothing, but now your card info is in the hands of unsavory folks.

Which is why I just use PayPal now for on line purchases or a prepaid card for others. The best practice is to only purchase on line from known, proven merchants. I didn't consider that the one in question was a scam site, only considering if the parts were knock offs. Good catch Rob.

Also NEVER EVER trust any website that does not have an independant security certificate - i.e. starts https:// - be really suspicious if it is self certified (many government sites are).

Install "HTTPS everywhere" extension from the Guardian Foundation in you browser - ALWAYS.
