Ramair Knock off?

Just ordered a replacement filter element from Ramair cust serv. I'll put the endoscope inside and post pictures when I get the new one vs what is currently installed.

Last night I looked at the back of the filter element near the sensor port (where the "Ramair" should be in the rubber) and didn't see anything. Which I thought was interesting too.

Same as the one I got for more than double that price direct from Ramair

Well at least you will have a spare now to sell, but it sounds like you already had a version #3 of the RamAir which has had minor alterations to the rubber specs and possibly the moulding itself to prevent cracking of the throttle body (TB) intake runner rubber boots which occurred on the first version.
I think the latter ones may have slight mods on the TB intake rubbers to assist seating on the very short TB intake runner lip available. It is very easy to over-tighten and actually squeeze the boots off the TB runners. A very gentle thumb and forefinger only grip and gently twist until tension felt then STOP. ;):D

As @Claviger and @barbagris said the site is a scam not the product.

There was a similar scam for NOLAN Helmets recently.

As confirmed by @Allan S RamAir now uses a soft and MUCH easier crankcase breather filter - ask @Turk who just fitted my spare one to his '05 R3 after fitting one of the hard topped K&N to his own '10 Roadster previously.

Sadly won't be able too. Ordered a new filter because the one that the last owner installed less than a year ago has a tear in it (about 4cm). Since the warranty on them is lifetime coverage for first owner I was told to **** my hat.

I will try to repair the filter I have now to keep around in case the new one breaks or something? I wouldn't want to sell something like that on to another though unless theirs was worse off I guess.

Thanks for the heads up I will use a gentle twist when installing the new one.

Indeed, though that was off topic from the original intention which was to discuss the integrity of the product. I always cringe ordering from chinese websites though that was somewhat common when I was playing with RC airplanes.

Though like I said this was installed less than 1 year ago by the previous owner and both the primary intake and crank case filters have defects? Maybe the problem is just Ramair.

I have a small tear in one of my RamAir's intake boots. It came on the bike when purchased and I am pretty sure it is the early version. I just put a tiny bit of tape on the crack and it has done over 8,000 mile since I found the tear. @Turk's need was greater than mine.
