R3 gas milage dropped from 38 to 20

I can't believe Triumph can't figure this out! Take it to a real technician and preferably one with a dyno. I would not try to fix it with any "add on" device as you would just be masking the real problem, but you do have a real problem.

@cj jeeper I had a problem with a high idle due to road grime ruining the Teflon/plastic washers in the stepper motor and the front end of the fuel injection assembly. Dealer could not fix without replacing the whole assembly ,$2,500. I ended up buying an old one from a crashed bike and cannibalized the needed parts for my system; fixed it. Mileage came back up to where I was new around 32-34 MPG.

Thanks....I remember the stepper motor being one of the things they worked on......I also remember one of the mechanics saying he thought it might be the front end of the fuel injection so I'll ask again about that...

"""I can't believe Triumph can't figure this out"""

I can't either...incredibly frustrating...

16 months without a working touring bike..

8 trips to the dealership

$1600 in repair bills

$400 travel expense including 3 car rentals
1,120 miles of travel to and from the dealership

Easily 50 hours waiting in the shop…

Nightmare......

IS that one of those wonderful Avons that are sooooo goood WOW I just told someone to try one

Thanks...no the standard distances I regularly ride....100 miles RT on Sunday for breakfast mu fuel light comes on half way home after filling up...
