Think I will probably go along .. expecting 1500 to 2000 riders in Brissy ( imagine that will be dependant on the rain pissin -off) ..should be able to hide myself in that many bikes

I thought it was today , but it is tomorrow .theres going to be a large gathering at the bp north bound at Coomera at 8.30 am then I suppose meeting up where ever in Brisbane. I hope the weather is a bit nicer i was just talkin to a mate of mine who has just brought his bike and helmet over from new Zealand ,went out for ride ,got a $300 fine because he didn't have the Australian standard sticker on his helmet . It happened to him 2 days in row .i thought that was a bit rough

From what I can gather I could in fact be the 'third person' that could send two random clubbies to prison for 6months to 3 years. Seems if you have been on a Poker Run or gone and seen a show , had a bbq or whatever at a 1%ers clubhouse on more than 3 occasions ..you are viewed as a VLA (Viscous Lawless Associate) and treated the same as a patched up member as far as the association laws go. That'd get you off the xmas card list pretty quick , being the one that made up the 'three stooges' off to the watch-house until court hearing .. these new laws are insane !!!

I certainly hope that's not the case as I have been harassed on numerous occasions at various organisations ,but not recently ,actually have not been intimidated or harassed since Adolf Newman implemented his new policies . It will be interesting to see what happens as we progress forward

Seems to be what the Association Laws say mate .. they are that vague that even those in the legal field are struggling to make any sense of them. They had to be amended because solicitors and barristers risked being deemed VLA's just seeing their clients more than three times. Don't think even those that drafted these stupid new laws actually understand the real-life ramifications of there broad-brush approach. So if you've had your name taken or your rego noted on three 1%er functions (doesn't have to be the same club each time) you could be deemed a VLA of a criminal organisation... bit of a worry huh

When I worked for Social Security in OZ (once upon a time, in a land far, far away) I went to the local Hells Angels clubhouse on a number of occasions to interview those members who were receiving benefits from the government - to make sure that they were receiving their correct entitlement. (Many of them were on the dole so that they could have a verifiable income. It always amazed me that all those log term unemployed could afford shiny new HDs. ) Would I be deemed a VLA, even though I usually ended up cancelling their benefits?

That's the problem .. no-one seems to be able to confirm the extent of these new Association laws. Read that solicitors representing clubbies that wished to resign from their clubs were unable to be given instructions on how they should go about resigning in the eyes of the law. Now even members who have handed in their club regalia and signed statutory declarations swearing the have left their clubs .. are still viewed as 'current members' by these laws. The VLA legislation is even muddier .

2,000 odd attended the Protest in Brissy yesterday . Campbell Newman (the arrogant lil' prick suggested our time would have been better spent riding somewhere "scenic" ) some good speakers including the Secretary of the ETU expressing his concerns that the very same legislation could be used against their Union. Pointing out of the 120 odd pages of the VLAD legislation ' Bikie Gangs ' are mentioned three times. Any organisation the Government judged to be a threat could be targeted. The G20 Summit Brisbane will be hosting got a mention from a few of the speakers , likening the 'exclusion from CBD ' and the ' named individuals /organisations' as being almost identical to the VLAD Laws. Hope that the protests against this would-be Fascist Dictator continue .. but I have my doubts.
