Very good point :D

Thank you to you all.

I did my head in researching on the net. So much conflicting advice. You never know the validity of people’s comments, except for here.

Just had a $400 service and was running sweeeet as, like a Swiss watch, and then this stuff up.

So p’d off ! :-/

Yep...just clean it well and refill you will be all G.
We had a similar issue last November...filled the boats tank with diesel...but the motor is a 4 stroke 250hp Yamaha!!!...boat ran for a while till the diesel arrived then puttered...blue smoke and died...had to get the coastguard to come tow us...
Drained the tank...filled it with petrol...hand primed it through the system and fired her up...no problems other than taking most of a bloody good day we could have been fishing!...these things happen sometimes.

i have never done this
a shot of starting fluid about every 2-3 seconds might work

I put diesel in mine, and it started running like crap and I didn't understand why. I had recently added fuel, so I opened the gas cap, and the smell instantly told me what I'd done. :banghead:

Drained, and refilled, and soon all was as if nothing had happened.
Thats where i am in trouble, i have no sence of smell!

Drain as much as possible, refill with premium and ride it. Won't hurt engine oil or filter. Better off to ride on an interstate or open roads
Really? I’m flat broke. This would be ideal. But, I cannot kill my beautiful ‘new’ Rocket. Replacement wld be $36k with all its mods ....

Mine is poor, from a pack a day for 10 years. I sniffed, and then felt. Didn’t feel that oily. And in the Army deisel had a blueish tinge, this stuff was pale yellow ... lesson learnt ...
