Please Help ! Diesel fuel in tank

Diesel is an oil...so not a risk really except for some fouling but that's only if you keep it running. Think two stroke. May smoke a bit but will be fine.
Now petrol in a diesel engine - big bucks
Fouling? Running? Advice here is to run it until cleaned out .. soooo?

i'll support Neville's Theory if youre not sure.....he knows what he is talking about......
I can’t ride around with a smoke grenade’s worth of white smoke pluming out. Cops will be all over me ....

Firstly, do not panic. Syphon or drain the diesel out as much as you can. Put in some petrol.Yes you've probably fouled the plugs. They're only $5.50 each. Change them. Some of the smoke will be from diesel which is coating the ports, and exhaust etc. See if you can get the engine to operating temp, that will help. Leave the toluol in the can. Get it warm and go for a ride at night. This is not a rocket specific problem, I did it to my car when I was about 20. We've all made errors. Good luck.

Thanks Neville :)

A 1/2 or full litre of toluene in a full tank of 98? Get a solvent / thinners effect to clean system out? Or not Neville?

Must come down to the shed and ask your advice on mods one day, when I can afford ...
Stay away from ether, toluene, etc., probably when you restated the engine, injectors, lines, etc. still had fuel in them so gas hadn't got into cyls. yet. Should clear up on ride, engine warms up.

Still reckon plugs are fouled. Will get them swapped ..
...yep, change those plugs...get rid of all the diesel as much as you can....nice clean good petrol in and away you go...it might smoke for a moment while it cleans its throat then the petrol will be too overpowering for the diesel fumes and the bike will be kicking its heels in the air...so will you!!

Yeah, I agree. I don't think the seals may be compatible..let the petrol do its job.
