Oz Exaust system parts

Dennis how can that be when there are so many old knuckles , panheads and genny shovels running around over there. Most look like they have straight through exhausts on them ... they get away with it obviously.

Don't know if the law still exists but it used to be that a motor had to be rebuilt every 20,000 or replaced which is why we have had so many Grey imports and jap motors bought into the country as it was cheaper to buy a new car then to rebuild them over there.
It's got me buggered how, as you sat TC that they allow the old harlys etc on the road or for that matter that Rocket with the hot looking exhaust and "Carbon Dry" body kit

I know mate I have seen them, I believe with they go standard for the test, also it is easier and cheaper to do top end work and re ringing on an air cooled twin to keep emissions in the limits, I suspect they don't want personal imports so it's made to be difficult and the test will be to the letter..

Lucky here in California they don't emission test bikes yet. As for the dealers here, as of January 1st, 2013, they can't sell or install after market exhaust any longer. As of yet, we in California do not have to rebuild engines at a specified mileage. But, if your vehicle won't pass emissions testing, you have to spend up to the limit to get it to pass.

As for testing bikes, if they decide to I will register mine to my Arizona house and fix them. But if stopped, the California vehicle code states you have ten days after taking up residency in California to register your vehicle here. Having your vehicle registered out of state can be a problem if you start getting stopped a lot,,,.

As for loud exhaust, if you are not a 1%er and don't take up an attitude with the cop stopping you, most won't cite for loud exhaust. Most cops here ride bikes also.
