Opinions on the Rocket 3, please

Welcome Relax. Don't worry about your command of English. Some American folks ;) here should worry about theirs and they seemingly don't:D...
Regards. Jamie:cool:
I resemble that remark.

...What scares me a bit is how it would be trying to maneuver the whole bike in a narrow ramped street like we have in some european cities, with a row of impatient cars behind...:(
Takes more skills with the Beast. That is for certain. Oh, so sorry: It will require additional skills to manage the narrow cart paths.

I've visited your areas of interest. The main thoroughfares are what's meant for the RocketIII. A crouch rocket or bicycle is best otherwise. If you hold up traffic on your way to the open roads they'll have to bear with you or eat your dust when you get there.

RELAX,
Follow your handle and relax.
The Roc is AWSOME..
You can't compare it to anything else.
It's not like compareing Democrats to Republicans
(no difference).
It's more like comparing grapes to watermellons.
They're both fruit, but thats about all they have in common.
Get your Rocket, You'll love it.
Forgive my use of english, I'm an AMERICAN.
to GOD be the glory
xhdskip

Relax, welcome aboard, your English is a hell of a lot better than my Spanish. Go for the Rocket you'll love it.

After a few thousand miles you feel like you could ride the beast anywhere. I don't think any bike of equal weight handles as good. You have to be careful, however. The size of the beast can be a handful in certain situations. If you buy one, you won't regret it.

To Relax:
Welcome to the site, and relax. Your concern about "taking off on a ramped street with cars behind you" That will not be a problem. Your rocket engine will have so much HP and torque, that a start from dead stop on a very steep incline will be no problem.
For me, a few times at a stop light, I was incorrectly in second gear while taking off. I was instantly aware of this but instead of going through all that trouble and work of squeezing in on the clutch and moving my foot to change the gear to first, I chose to just twist the throttle a little more. The only drawback to doing this is that it was a 40 mph speed zone and before I knew it I was having to hit the brakes because I was going 60 mph. Oh this power is so sweet. Rademis

<Amen! My second to what he said.

The only thing is handle bars are wider than most if not all other bikes which limits narrow access such as most doorways, but I never wanted to sleep with her, just ride the stuffing out of her:D. Welcome Relax, you speak well enough so no sweat, I'm in the same boat waiting for my next Rocket III:cool:

Welcome Relax,

If I try to be objective, the R III is an overall good bike but the rear shocks and fork springs need to be changed if you want an acceptable confort and a good handling on our European twisty roads.

The engine is awesome and the bike is very pleasant to drive.

The only bad point on this bike for me is the transmission :
The tranny is very noisy and there's too much play in the final drive.

More worrying, a bad design on the bearing assembly is the reason of a poor reliability. (high rate of transmission failures on the R III since 2004).

All these transmission problems have been fixed on the new R III Touring. :)
