I wonder with all these problems with the wiring harness and plug wires if this is why i'm fouling plugs all the time but it can be 1,000 miles, 500 miles or 17 miles never know when its going to happen

with a new little mod i have going on i found out my my pos dealer did to the ignition switch harness as part of the "up grade".. they cut out the 7 flat blade connector between the water proof connector and the switch.. prob is the idiot didnt "crimp" the crimp connectors when he spliced the wires.. he just stuffed the wires into the butt connectors at each end .. only thing holding them together was tape.. if i had lost electrical while riding this and ate it i would own that fckn dealership.. cant wait to find out how good of a job they did on the rest of the upgrade... brea truimph you fckn suck.. not to mention the damage they did to the lower engine casting...

Well I Joined the Club

Coming home this afternoon I noticed substantial vibration in the foot pegs, more than normal. Since I was wearing a full face I really couldn't hear much over the Jar's. When I went to put the bike in garage I heard a hell of a loud clunk when the clutch is released, not the normal drive line slack. When you sit with the bike in gear and release the clutch in and out just to where it catches the noise (metal on metal) is really bad. The last couple of months the vibration, particularly in the lower gears has been there. When you pull the clutch in slightly it dissipates, so I a pretty **** sure the output shaft bearing is well on it's way to going completely at 20k. My bike is a 2005 and I guess I need to know if Triumph is still going back that far on the upgrade and non-official warranty claim. Since I am in Virginia, Iowa is a little out of the way. Anybody got any suggestions on a good upfront dealer on the East Coast who has stepped up to plate.

i believe if you buy one new and then sell it that the warranty is transferable if there is a warranty left on it when you buy it not a 100% sure but that is what i think

When I bought my Speed Four used, the dealer told me that it still had one year of warranty left. So they must be transferable.

George, do you recall how many miles you had when the problem occured? I always wonder at some point can ya feel like your out of the woods with so many miles racked up?

I'm wondering also.. I have always had a little bit of cam chain rattle when cold, but it goes away within a few minutes, after the bike is warmed up, and if I ride every day, I never hear it.. But it keeps me wondering if I should try for the upgrade kit..

I haven't had any transmission or clutch issues though

If it goes away after warming up it is the oil pump drive. They won't do an upgrade for that as according to Triumph it causes no harm.
