Installed a new fuel filter today Wix 33032 about $10 from most auto stores 60psi rated.
While I had the guts out of the tank I decided to follow azccj sticky about adjusting the fuel light as mine has always came on very early, his posting is second to none and I followed it to a tee now I just have to fill the tank and see when the light now comes on.
I have attached a couple of pictures showing the old filter that had 56000 miles on it a wee bit of the grunge could be where I used a chop saw to cut the filter.
And the most important part when you have the tank off clean under the bloody thing:D

I will be replaing my fuel filter soon. The procedure looks straight forward except for this: use proprietary professional automotive workshop equipment approved for fuel handling, drain all fuel from the fuel tank.

Is this just another way of saying turn the tank upside down, drain the fuel into a container and don't smoke while doing it?

Did you replace the pump plate seal and the fuel connector washers?

Jesus Christ do not type so big:D
Just run your bike until it is nearly empty no need to drain it, I did not replace the crush washers or the plate seal but use a torque wrench especially for the fuel connection.

Thanks Scot, that saves me a little money but especially time waiting for parts to come in from bike bandit. I will use a torque wrench. At 90k miles the fuel filter is probably pure crud by now. I am getting significant throttle hesitation, I am betting that it is the fuel filter, but in any case, it needs to changed.
