My Rocket is missing....

oh yes hopefully that's it sorted so.. but if your luck is like mine she just teases you with running fine for a few minutes and then, just when you breathe a satisfied breath of relief thinking it's fixed... BOOM it happens and turns out it's not fixed :)
All of you have given me great advice. I would have been in deep s--t without your help. Just a couple of questions.
1). How do I reset the TPS?

2). How do I reset the adapters? And what the heck is a "adapter"?

Also, I agree that over time riding this cycle I have become lazy. Shifting down gears while bringing the speed down, like coming into towns, is easily not done. The engine doesn't lug like other cycles. It can power up quite easily. I DO ride in the wrong gear. I plan on changing that!

Just wondering if there was a happy ending to this problem and, if so, what you did to resolve the issue. Thanks.
The ending was good! I followed the ideas given, and went through the connections. I found
A few loose connectors and used electrical grease were it was needed. I also found that the Triumph dealer didn't know their a** from a hole in the ground. The problem never reappeared. Success

Just for comparison sake, if running well, the Rocket will toodle along in fifth gear at 30mph on level ground. And it will accelerate from there if you roll on slowly and let it build up. It is indeed a touch below idle, and probably not good for the oil pressure...but it doesn't complain.

Thanks for the response. Mine is doing the same thing, so thought I would learn from your experience.

I reread the 3 pages of this discussion and somewhere in the middle, I tried to clarify the speed traveling to the gear chosen. "Normal operation" of my Rocket is cruising around 60 to 65 mph. I do run these speeds in 5th gear. I was trying to show that even at slow speed, and low Rpm's the bike ran normal. Any increase in throttle would cause the issue. By using my throttle lock, the problem would not appear. I hope that clears the misunderstanding the I didn't down shift at slower speeds. As all of us know the cycles have great power at ANY speed.
