Lower Timing Chain Blew-up!!!!!!!

Right on Flip and hope they didn't change the crank snout so that new parts need a new crank..If the dealers can't answer that, then mabey I'll just drive spike through there front window. Do ya think Hinkley would hear about It..HaHa Crazy Jack

That would be engine no. 228389 then 228390 for the first of the redesigned gears.

More questions...

That would be engine no. 228389 then 228390 for the first of the redesigned gears.

Obviously for you to come up with the engine numbers where the change occured makes me think that you might also know what exactly changed. Was the sprocket (it's not a gear, it's a sprocket) redesigned as to it's physical appearance or was the fit of the key changed?

Please advise.

Since we had two good threads going on this subject, av8r4fun's "Timing Chain Blew Up" and Jack's "Help Me, I am Blind and Drunk and Can't Read" thread, and each had some good info, on Flip's suggestion, I have merged them. A redirect for Jack's thread will be in place for one day. Hopefully the authors of the original threads won't mind.

Am I good or bad?

I do have a nagging question and that is. Is the engine number the last 6 digits of the serial number or is it stamped somewhere else other than the right hand sie of the engine near the footpeg? If that's the engine number, I'm good to go at 258452
