Just recently I've noticed a new (?) - I think- sound coming from the beastie.
On a cold start if I give it a bit of a throb I hear a "tic tic tic' coming apparently from the front of the donk as the revs come back to idle.
It's kinda like "Vroom----tic tic tic" Vroom---- tic tic tic.
It goes away when it's warm.
Do you reckon it's something to worry about?
Thanks in advance for any ideas btw.

PS. I'm not worried about the other things I hear - you know the voices and all - I've enjoyed those for as long as I can remember.

Doesn't sound like an exhaust leak. If it is, the jardines will fix it.
Could be a clock I guess - The intake sucked in a 'busa a cuppla weeks ago but it spat it out.

My TORs helped get rid of all sorts of noises. ;)

I actually thought I had a new noise myself. With the cold weather I've been letting her idle a bit to warm up while I finish getting ready in the mornings and I started hearing this rattling sound. Went out a few times and it seemed to go away or I just couldn't hear it over the exhaust. Turned out to be the bathroom window vibrating!! Ha, had me worried for a while.

Sorry, not much help with your noise. Most engines are noisier until warm so hopefully it's something very minor that someone more techo savvy can pin point.

If you're running with triple K & N's that's the valve train. It wouldn't hurt to check the cam chain tensioner though.

I hear a tic, tic coming from my touring when cold and believe it to be the valve train cam clearance. I did my valve clearance check myself and most measurements were at max...therefore the tic tic noise when cold tells me I still have valve clearence.

Thats what it sounds like it could be to me would be valve lash clearence when cold. Once the engine warms and the valve grows a couple of thousandths, this takes up the clearence and no more tic tic tic. Sounds to me you need to have the valve clearence checked and corrected. how many miles on the bike? When is it due to have this done?
