Mittzy you are never far from anywhere in England when you compare it to the distances we travel. Even if you're in Southampton it's still only a day trip (reasonable longish admittedly) and motorway all the way. Its about 2 1/2 hours to Birmingham.
If you did it as an overnighter you would have plenty of time.

Hi all, I am going to England in April 2013 for my brothers wedding, I just shot off an email to the factory enquiring about a factory tour. Doesn't look like they do many tours but I am hopeful, if I do get to go through the factory I plan to do a post about it.......anyone else keen????

Viv & I managed to scam a tour of the factory a while back..
Don't know where I found it but I got hold of the PR managers email and barraged him with emails saying where we were coming from and would like to work our holiday around a tour..
He came through and put on a very interesting walk around the factory.
My advice = annoy the hell out of them and they may come through.
