..don't ask.. ..puttin' rivco risers on, had trouble gettin' the clutch cable back on..took off the bellcrank (mistake #1) from the actuator rod and I guess that's where I lost it..don't have a service manual yet either..where can I get a hard copy for the garage?..TIA..88

..I got it back.. ..and it's a spring load..not a preload..thank you Sidecar Flip.. ..and thanks for the link gwolf..I downloaded that link but firefox wouldn't let me open it in my browser..I'm working on that one..but I would like to get a hard copy for the garage..saw one on ebay for $38..thanks again..Bud..

I bought a plagerized hard copy of the shop manual on Flea-Bay some time ago for, I think, 38 bucks. Looks exactly like the one at the dealer but cheaper. Has a better cover and binding (Clear acetate) so it don't get munged up.

The pre-load isn't in the shop manual at all. It's just a little trick learned from previous coronaries.

Like I said in my note to you, the trick is foresight. Take a prick punch and mark the shaft as well as the crank before taking it off. That way, it goes back on the same way. No guessing.

By pre load you mean twist the shaft a bit before installing the actuator arm?

I had to do that to get any feel
