High HP Air Filtration

Since there have been numerous comments on other threads I thought I would start this one. I am all but convinced that the Carpenter 240+ package needs to be on my fat bottomed girl so I am interested in opinions on how I make it breath to ensure I get the most out of the upgrade. Triple K&N's? Custom filter? I obviously can't run it on a daily basis without an air filter so I have to come up with something. Thoughts?

I have done 240 hp with air filters on the rocket using RU1770 K&Ns and also the Xtreme filter ( which the part number escapes me currently) is very good. I a sure there are many filters which will work. I guess the thing to do really is forget all the bull****, get the bike done, then add filters and see what happens. If you lose power, get a better filter,or say you have a 234hp bike. There is lots of talk about, talk is free. Find out. Cool clean air is very important. HAPPY NEW YEAR

Tex you have a roadster go big or go home Pipercross has the large one you need and can use the OEM velocity stacks. As for the bottom plate I used a aluminum Roadsign the ones put in front of bridges work great. (with the yeller and black stripes)

Baked in the oven at 300 degrees and the reflective sticker comes right off.

I didn't try that. I left it on hoping the reflective side would shield some of the engines heat.

I thought about it but I have achrome oil tank and you could see the reflection. I did not want anyone to notice how cheap I was when aquiring the metal for the plate so I baked it and it peeled right off

I run the 1770s, Bob Carpenter hadn't seen them before but liked them, hit 241 hp on the second Dyno run, he said that was real good, usually takes 3 or 4 runs. On the Touring, anyway, they do keep your left leg out 1"-1 1/2", your muscle memory adapts right away and you forget about it, at least I do. I may try the Pipercross, too.
