Noticed an oil puddle under my 2008 R3T yesterday. :( Warranty ran out Jan 15, 2012. :( Called Life Cycle and asked if they could contact Triumph to see if it could be covered under warranty. After moping around the garage all afternoon, I called Triumph North America in Georgia myself. Told them my tail of whoa and they agreed to cover it under warranty!! :p

Head gasket is leaking oil from the rear of the motor under the oil sending unit.

I have a trip with 7 others guys planned for June 4 to the Ozarks for a week of riding. Need to have it fixed ASAP.

Life Cycle can't get me in until May 24.

Don't know about Detroit, he'll call me back. He did say that they have not done a head gasket on a Rocket before.

Does anyone have experience with either of these dealers?

Start dialing the dealers in your area (the Triumph web page has a list of dealers). See if you can find one that has the part and get you in and out before your trip. Persist until you get what you need (and **** the mileage). ;)

I dealt with detroit when i needed a shifter and they were going to pull one off a bike they had sitting on the floor for me. Even helped me contact Scott at Triumph USA to sort it all out. So good things from me. Head gasket isnt that difficult. Raise tank, move some harnesses and unbolt cover. replace gasket and rebolt and torque. They should be able to handle it.

This was before they moved the shop. I was in town visiting family and stopped in there. let us know what comes of this :D

I have had work done on my 04 America at Life Cycle they were great to work with at that time. It was an insurance claim but I had some electrical issues that I had taken care of at that time. Last fall I bought the 08 R3T from them I find it easier to work with a store like that than a large dealership. I have also noticed oil seeping from the rear of the head (5600 miles) and would be interested in how it goes for you. I would use Life Cycle.
