Help 2008 r3 touring not starting

A similar problem on another forum turned out to be a clogged fuel filter. Replacing the filter and pressure regulator solved his problem, but he tested his fuel pressure first and found 10 psi to the injectors, it needs 43.
Thanks atom, got my tester, going to try soon, maybe lifting the tank up and down Sterling up the bottom clogged the filter, the guy that did the injectors told me I should replace it. The tank is almost 3/4 full, ugh

Well I checked the pressure 38 psi on a cheap gage, but I pumped some gas out again and it was pretty yellow (or should I say ugly yellow) and didn't smell quite right, think I'm gonna try replacing fuel first since that's easier. Wish me luck 😉

you can change the fuel in the tank then with the new fuel it will dilute the old fuel but u still have that old gas in the fuel rail so i would recommend using starting fluid so as to get the engine warmed up to burn that old gas out of the rail.

OK, that's not ideal but should be enough to get a start. If the FI adaptation has adapted to old (bad) gas it may not start at all (happened to me on my 05). Reflash the ECU with the stock map if you have TuneECU before you attempt the next start.

Well I changed the gas, guess I'll try refreshing the map, but the battery is down again, so probably get to it tomorrow, I pumped new gas up to fuel rail, hoping with a little more cranking it will flush the rail, not getting a strong fuel smell out of the throttle bodies. Do I have to hookup the plastic intake, I have the map sensor and air temp sensor hooked up

If they are sending to the ECU it should be fine. The Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) and temperature sensor adjust the fuel maps for a combustion chamber calculated air mass. If they are working the ECU should start the engine. If the battery is dropping quickly you might get it load tested as the engine requires enough power to spin the motor and fire the electronics at the same time. You can pull the headlight fuse and that will also add watts to the system.

To my understanding that if you brain dead the ecm (with bat disconnected touch the pos terminal to negative terminal) this will reset the ecu to original new specs might still run rough till you do let motor run until fan comes then let run for 12minutes (aka 12 minute tune)
