Not trying to sidetrack this thread and heated grips are fine, however, I wanted to throw in my 2cents on heated gloves. I like them better because it's an enveloping heat around the fingers rather than just inside the hand. Gerbing micro-wire are the shiz in my honest opinion. Just wanted to throw out another option.

Good option if they work I tried some that take a D size battery in A pocket in each glove and didn't think much of them

heated gloves....

I ride with heated gloves....when the weather dictates.....

I can personally vouch for the value in these baby's....I get 3-5 hours of warmth withone set of batteries, and I keep a spare set as well....have had 'em for two winters now...:bch::bch:

Iv'e got the Triumph heated grips and they are too hot for me on the low setting. Only ride in 30 degrees and above though.

Rode home in the rain when I was cold, turned the grips on to the low setting and my dainty little hands got too warm. Turned them off and rode the rest of the way home. What can I say, got soft hands.

er....No. I have heard that the R3T heated grips are not as well made (easily broken?) but the ones for the regular Rocket (toggle switch) and the Thunderbird work great.

I also use heated Gerbing heated gloves but they do have the battery (not D's) in a pocket and they work well though they are not rated for motorcycle use. They are the Core heated gloves...I think they are rated for snowmobiles.

So I take it that leaving the OEM Triumph heated grips on the hottest setting does not destroy them as Triumph suggests?

I don't know if the hottest setting will destroy them or not but if your hands are on the grips continuously you will feel compelled to turn them down due to heat. I do not view them as the ultimate comfort regulator but rather a numb hand correction. I use them when riding in 10-35f. Colder and I tend not to ride, warmer and just gloves suffice.

If u have the r3t I would advise after Mamet heated grips or the electric gloves I have replace my right grips 3times because of breakage where the throttle connects on the inside
