Interested in the heated hand grips, seems like the best alternative to an aftermarket fairing. Would like to know if anyone has them and if they are any good.
I just installed mine this off-season but haven't had a chance to test them out on the road yet. I did turn them on and imagined I was riding and they do get quite warm. Apparently you're supposed to flick the switch to the "hot" setting until they warm up and then you switch them to the "warm" setting. I'm assuming this is to avoid overheating? Are Captains with the heated grips following this procedure as per the instructions?
I just fitted "HeatDemon" internal heaters and put ISO grips with end weights, you have to remove the fittings for the triumph end weight but the job was worth it they are 4 stage and the switch bracket replaces the master cylinder clamp very neat and gets nice and toasty great with arthric hands
Geez it is ***** this getting older sh1t!!

heated grips are the shiznit. the most important mod imo. used to hate having to pull over every 30 mins in winter to get the blood back into me digits, not any more i tells ya.
well worth it.
btw mine are the triumph ones, and were on it when i got the bike. so i dont have the exact part number
I had them on my FJR and they had a variable dial that could be set anywhere from off through max....
I now have the Triumph ones on my Roadster....high gets very hot (eventually) but warm is only luke warm.....I find in colder or wetter conditions, I am often swiching back and forth or leaving on the high position.
I will have look for the part no in morning when I get home, but they don't list the rocket on app list I had originally bought the under grip ones which they said would work with the ISO grips ..... They don't ... The force I had to apply caused the left one to strip a wire and cause a dead short.... Great I thought that's $150 buk down the drain anyway I noticed they had a phone # on the bottom of the sheet so I rang and spoke to a consult, I only wanted them to be aware of the fact that even thu I had followed thier instructions to the letter,it had ended in disaster as the grips are glued on so no way to resurrect and reattach shorted pad. She was apologetic and put me thru to the product development manager and when I told him about my saga he asked if I could get inside the ends of my bars, I said no because of the threaded lugs in there but they would not be hard to remove as I no longer used then with the Iso grips. He then turned around and said "I will send you a pair of the internal heat pads". I said what's the catch how much are they going to cost me and he said "oh no, no charge and he sent them, I was only out of pocket for set ISO grips ($63)
To remove the threaded lugs you simply drill out the spot weld and the two pressed in indents put bolt in thread and yank hard. The internal pads are a clinch to put in and work a treat
