Has the ignition problem been fixed ?


Well, I just bought a new 2013 touring model last fall that was a carryover from the previous year. I installed the EB relay kit a couple weeks ago and I do believe my single light is brighter. My opinion is from all the posts....install the EB relay just for the peace of mind. It was easy to do and not very expensive. I would buy an extra/spare relay when you buy the kit just in case. It's highly unlikely, but you are introducing another series of parts (the relays) into the circuit.....one of which could fail. The only thing I changed was the battery connectors on the Kit. They are not heavy enough in my opinion and I don't just crimp connections I solder them as well. I like peace of mind when I ride!!!
 
Sounds like that's the route to go. I appreciate the advice. I would like to upgrade to LED at some point though. Until that happens, I'm sure I'll be contacting EB.

One more thing Flopper, your EB will be slow coming from Japan. I think it took a little over 3 weeks for my relay kit to arrive. Were I you, I'd contact @DEcosse for the bypass.
He's in the states, makes an excellent install manual and is EXTREMELY helpfull!
 
I still like good ol' incandescent photons and lots of 'em, so on most cages I've owned, and bikes (including my '14 Touring) I've installed bypass relays in order to host extra-legal headlights. So have I done on the Touring with the Eastern Beaver 50A fuse box, and with some sense of security, I have run headlight (with a 130/90W bulb), soon-to-be-uprated driving lights, heated grips, cruise control, aux outlets for heated clothing, and Zumo navigator to the EB fuse box - and feel better riding knowing those electrons are well away from the ignition switch, which I hope is happy as a clam.
 
Those Daymakers sure look pretty - but WOW - $800 for a pair!!!
OUCH!
