Has the ignition problem been fixed ?

Mitty, where did you purchase the head lights, and where they really available.
Got mine from Morgan and Wacker Newstead - I think $460 each. retail is $517 each but I asked the parts guy to sharpen his pencil....

mid 2010 they issued a recall (using a single relay only to divert the load away from ignition switch) for 2010 model Roadsters but did not recognize the earlier models as having the same fault al though in many cases provided new ignition switch to those that fried, The recall only partially cures the problem as it redirects the the heavy load on to the dipper (Hi-Low beam) switch so it will eventually likely fail, In my Opinion there is only one answer and that is to either get a EB kit or make your own as I tried my best to keep simple in a thread I started http://www.r3owners.net/threads/home-made-eb-headlight-relay-harness.19364/

I used your Cure and made my own relay kit to correct the problem in my bike It worked great. The relays, time and materials I used plus the size and the amount of space they took under the tank make be think the the EB Kit would have been better. I did it your way just because I could.

My method may take up a little more room due to the larger Relays but at least they are a common type which you could buy almost anywhere where as the EB ones are hard to get if you happen to be out in the sticks

also if you carry an extra relay it will fit the other relays on the bike

My method locates the relays behind left panel next to the OEM relays.
I use Micro Format relays which are smaller than the typical OEM format Mini Relays - the micros are also commonly available
This kit is completely plug n play - does not require any cutting/splicing of the OEM wire harness

Also has an optional electronic control switch which utilizes the OEM start button switch to turn the headlights on/off at any time

Does anyone have a complete schematic for late model that actually shows this relay in the scheme?
The late model Roadster schematic I have does not show this (that doesn't necessarily mean it's current)

I have been happy so far with the EB Kit as it was a simple install. I have the touring , so I will say the headlight shell is a little full with two other harnesses already in there. With that said, it was not a problem getting everything to fit pretty easy inside the shell. I spent more time draining and raising the tank than I did doing the actual install. As I mentioned in another post, the stock H4 connector has exposed terminals so I did replace that connector with a closed back type to avoid any shorts. I carry a spare Panasonic EB style relay as it is readily available in the states from the site listed below. If I have any issues with the EB Kit I can always put the original headlight connector back on the H4 light to bypass the kit. I plan to carry an extra starter relay and one of the three other bike relays just in case I ever have a relay issue. As I commonly say....any plan is better than no plan at all.
