Hagon rear shocks

Bud I worked over 20 years inside the wire And although there were fellers in there that I would not want any human to meet There is only one Hombre !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life is different when you deal with people who have a multiple life sentence plus 50 years.

I appreciate your post, Amigo. Call it "direct" if you must.
I have done quite a bit of technical teaching over many years.
Exalting your own knowledge while insulting the intelligence of your "pupils" is NOT effective teaching!

Tell that to my stepfather!!! He busted my face when i was 14 cos he was bigger and stronger and probably more than a little pissed off!....Things changed when i was 16 and he learnt that split lips hurt!!
I agree that you will always learn more from a teacher who is considerate and can also listen.
Everyone is different in their teaching methods tho so its a matter of "Do i wanna hear this or not" i guess...

I really like and respect your, "Its on me to learn" attitude!
The problem arises when most readers are not in a classroom setting and not asking or prepared to be force-fed.
I shall now drop this specific issue, lest I also become a hammer.

Censorship puts all of us on a very slippery slope. While there may be times when a post must be removed, the author and all readership should be notified that it will happen. To edit without acknowledgement is a serious problem to me and should be so to all of us. I saw 1oldbull's post as originally written. What remains is definitely not what he said. While I may not have chosen to use his words or tone, it is his voice and his responsibility to maintain ownership of those words. As soon as one word is changed, the responsibility of ownership lies with the censor. Without acknowledgement of the censorship act this editing is a form of plagiarism on the part of the censor, and the worst possible form at that.

We are adults here. We have the right to be insulted or admonished or praised or ignored. We fight, laugh and cry with each other: that is what makes us a community. When censorship constricts us, we are all diminished. The censor deigns to say that he or she knows best what we should say, hear, and by extension think. As a thinking human being, I find that idea repulsive at best. As an intelligent reader, I find the idea that we have to be schooled in what is acceptable language and thought abhorrent.

So, moderators, please tell us when language or ideas are a threat to us and why, and then remove the post in entirety. To do other wise is to endanger the very idea of a forum where we exchange ideas and opinions and not just a place to read what a censor composes using only some of our words.

What he said . . . Way better than I!
Gratitude!

The internet is a cold cold (did I say "cold") filter.

Much training over the years in government, where the all-powerful profit motive is missing as a common measure, is trying to rationalize where people insert their own (mea culpa - guilty as charged) sense of what is acceptable and should be.

A common thread of the training is that what we intended is not operative -- we have an extra responsibility to think about how what we do will be perceived.

I wrote about this a while back, to wit: "Nice" minders

Communication experts will tell us that 50-70% of communication is non-verbal, and among family members and others well-known, that rises to 90% or so.

The internet strips all of that away. And yes, things can get away from us on that slippery slope -- the unintended something perceived as negative, then responded to in a negative way, and we're off.

Previous moderators allowed things to go until they petered out, or a thread got shut down - and I've done that. I'm also on the receiving end of "I'm done here."

I decry the gratuitous accumulation of bad feelings that sometimes is a consequence of letting things unfold.

Your comments are solicited and always welcome -- Lord knows I need all the help I can get.

Thank you.

I do have to agree on that, delete or leave alone, anything else is/can be misleading.

AMEN on that, Amigo!
Caged!
Nothing much to do except ruminate about how one royally & permanently F'd up their life.
Would make anyone despair & become dangerous.
A prison guard pretty much works in the same cage, only he gets out after his shift.
Tense & Stressful . . .

Lets consider this............the internet and forums have encouraged people to ''give it a go'' with among other things suspension. No formal training, no experience, no proper tools, but ''give it a go'' nonetheless. High powered very fast motorcycles that have the ability to injure, maim and kill. Even moreso if a keyboard warrior armed with enough newfound '' knowledge'' to be dangerous gives it a go and makes a right dogs breakfast of it. We see this ALL the time

Thank heavens with such misadventure these people are not aircraft engineers. Of course everything is carefully regulated in that industry to minimise the number of planes that fall out of the sky. How many riders and innocent ''bystanders'' have been injured, maimed or killed because of the internet encouraging people ( many with the mechanical finesse of elephants ) to give it a go. Of course there are many people that are capable but there are too many that are not!

No apology offered for the comments above, there is no question that this is a HUGE issue.
