I like the clear screen as it reduce the crap on the instruments and as said else where doesn't stand out like a sore thumb it reduce wind pressure on chest and while there is some turbuulance no more than going with out any screen, I alternate between it and a larger touring screen for longer trips, BTW I am Tad over 6ft, shorter riders and taller riders are more likely to be effected differently
I took off the clear Roadster screen and put on the flyscreen for the first time yesterday. I love the way it looks! It changed the whole appearance of the bike for the better.
On the down side I definitely felt the difference in buffeting over the full screen, but I like the look of the bike so much its a small price to pay in my opinion.
the helmet is great I bought one just because as you can see in the ROOF demo video the chin bar rotate all the way to the back of the helmet avoiding the buffeting caused when it seats on top and when down and locked it give a wide field of vision wider than full face helmet and last it use a ratchet locking device in place of the double D rings found on north-american helmets
(stupid D rings system if you ask me)
I find the openfaced/ visored helmet I wear is really quiet without a screen. Quiet as my $1,000 Arai and it only cost me $150 with a tinted visor..... RST METRO
I just picked up the phantom black fly screen for my 2012 roadster. I think this bike should of come from the factory like this, it looks bad ass with the tinted screen.
Out of curiosity how are people mounting a gps inside the fly screen area above the instruments? I have a handle bar mount but would prefer to have it protected from wind and dirt and water behind the screen
The fly screen was on the bike when I bought it so i don't know any different, but I like the protection it gives the instruments.
I've noticed a bit of buffeting on windy days but other than that its ok.
I also like the black look.
