Ogremeister, yes the splined adapter for Triumph R3 from Kuryakyn with fit our R3 standard with footpegs or the R3R with footpegs aok.

hanso,I don't doubt they broke, all we have is manmade. I had the same setup minus the 2" extension on my VTX1800C for two years and traded it off for the 2012 R3R,no problems on the X either. Still have pics of the VTX too if anyone want to see the application. It for sure can happen though to any Mfg., and it has Im sure.

I had R3R controls on my R3R,changed them to standard R3 controls. The Kuryakyn parts fit either rail as long as they are for footpegs. The foot control rails are too hihg up on the bike for my legs thats why I went with that 2 " drop down which is for the passenger pegs, its works fine on driver end too. At any rate if you like it it gves you a choice and many $ less too and they look good. BTW I used the 2" extension to get my knees down some more and you don't have to use it,it was just my choice to get my feet lower down. With just the Triumph splined adapter and the floorboard of Kurys is plenty and its adjustible too,up and down laterally as well as up and down with the splines vertically too.

Trapper, sent you two pics too,id of posted them but they both are over 1 meg in size and Ive no way to size them down. Now you do have a choice.

This is very interesting.....

Others have posted that due to the ABS, you couldn't use the standard or classic controls...but you have....no adaptations needed? Just bolts on?

Also if, as you say, the #8813 Kuryakyn adapters fit both classic and roadster...
then there should be no reason that the Rivco floorboards should not fit...they should fit...

Orgremeister, I don't know about the Rivco stuff fitting but the R3R and The R3 standard model I guess its called, the only diff in the forward controls is the standard has it footpegs mounted just about under the 1st exhaust manifold which is about 4 to 6 inches further to the front of the bike. The footpeg mount hole on each is the same.I got a idea from another R3R owner to make a bracket that mounted to the two screw holes that hold the master cylinder and that bracket holds the ABS switch and the Triumph adapter that holds the switch and the Banjo that runs from it to the back of the master cylinder and I had a SS flexible brake line made up for it. Easier to send you a pic of it all that for my poor description of it. Its a triangluar plate and thats about it,3mm thick and SS or reg steel will work too. This is if you want to go from R3R to standard controls. ,,Sent pics of both my R3R footboard setup and the ones on my VTX I traded in for the R3R.,,For what its worth as a for instance,we have one R3 owner out there I know of that has a pinhole in his engine casing that leaks oil out the block,so does that means Triumph makes junk? Not. All mfgs. make mistakes and sometimes they don't catch them.

If Im not mistaken and I might be as I don't know what the Classic looks like but I thought it came with floorboards,if it does the Triumph Kuryakyn splined adapter will NOT fit it. Seems like it is a floorboard rail setup and not a footpeg model. I might be wrong but you can check on th BikeBandit website and see what rails go with the Classic.

No ground clearance problem yet, haven't touched the little pegs that get taken out before the boads take a hit either. If you look at the pics that Ogre posted for me you can see the VTX sits much closer to the ground than the R3R.,,No I guess you can't as I just looked at them but the X is closer to the ground by plenty compared to the R3R. Ive taken a couple sharp curves with the R3R and nothing touched ground yet but then again Im a conservative rider and the twisties don't bother me as I slow down going through them unless Im familiar with the road ahead. The X I have hit those drag buttons or whatever they are called many times , but never the floorboards touched.

Sorry but they would last about five minutes with me, they are so low I can't believe any body would have them that Low, You Really Must Slow Down a Hell of a Lot:eek:. I removed the feeler from my pegs cos it caused a peg to snap off when the feeler dug in a bit deep one time and I usally lift my foot when things start to scrape to allow them to fold up a bit:rolleyes:
