Sorry but they would last about five minutes with me, they are so low I can't believe any body would have them that Low, You Really Must Slow Down a Hell of a Lot:eek:. I removed the feeler from my pegs cos it caused a peg to snap off when the feeler dug in a bit deep one time and I usally lift my foot when things start to scrape to allow them to fold up a bit:rolleyes:

Me too. No way I could ride with those. Just how slow must you go to keep them off the ground??

I really can't say how slow i take a curve but Ive no one here I know to ride with either. I leave most everyone on a right or left turn and I don't baby it as Im usually wanting the far lane but Ive yet to scrape them on the R3R. I have many times on the X,to the point of lifting my foot several times as the floorboard pushed my foot up. Id much rather put the controls at the end of the rails or darn close to it but I don't have any welders to work with and my funds are squat now. So far I like it,it works for me. One thing might tell you is I have at least a inch of tread on the sides of the tire that Ive never used yet ,or gotten that low to do so.

Last line say it all I gave up on the Metz when I kept going over the edge, don't have that problem with the DS

How do you guys ride with these floor boards? I can't ride without scraping my standard foot pegs ever now and then and you're adding floorboards to the Roadster?

Not trying to sound negative but just wondering how you do it?

It's not the boards, per se, but rather the height of them that has me (and Hanso) wondering. Plenty of folk like them (including Hanso and HellFire RIP), presumably because of the different feel and that they allow great flexibility with foot placement. Personally I prefer pegs. Each to his own.

I switched to the Triumph Genuine Classic boards and rails which came as kit complete with everything and they have the same ground clearance as the pegs used to have but a lot more comfort on long trips yup I love them, If you had asked me before I test rode (a classic) and then bought the rocket (std) I would have laughed at you but after doing a few long trips on her I realized that I really enjoyed the test ride cos of the boards with their multiple foot position option;) oh yeah and like the pegs I scrape the hell outta them:D

I guess that while the ground clearance is the same you're still riding higher with your feet because they sit on top of the boards rather than with the pegs up in your instep. They are a different feel for sure. Probably change over by the time I'm a wheezer.

yes they sit a little higher but you soon get used to it and you can actually have your heals up near the front of the boards which allows you to stretch out a bit more:rolleyes:

I would be checking any adaptor made by Kuraykn as the Std Rocket and the Roadster have different size clevis pins that hold the foot pegs on, so I don't see how the same part number would suit both.

Cheers

I had Dually pegs on my Valk and a second set as highway pegs on the same bike...sold the bike to a friend. All 4 pegs are still fine....after 13 years of use.

Kuryakyn stuff is very heavy....but has held up fine on the Valk.

I had a set of Switchblades on my 05 Rocket...for a while, befor I put on Triumph floorboards.

I took them out of the box and looked to see how they would fit on my Roadster...

They were a different size clevis pin and the width was off....I assumed that the Roadster peg fitting had changed but the #8813 adapter is the same for "all" Rockets according to the fitment chart...that's why I asked in my previous post.
