do you have a manual as the pull cable is check up top the return cable is check down on the throttle body cable wheel. I can take pictures on my bike to help but the view in the manual of the pull cable is probable better. I will go look and see if there is a way I can mark and show the pull cable. But if you have a manual even the down loaded manual from Ian is good I just need to know as the page numbers changed thru ought the years especially when the added the slow touring model (joke guys).

In case this is confusing to anyone I will try to explain the free play in the throttle cables is important because you do not want the stepper motor to fight the cables in any direction to control the idle to the specific conditions idle, altitude, actual air temperature. or any of the other filter carb (conditions) the ecu uses to calculate where the stepper motor should be to achieve the optimum programmed idle!! otherwise we would be back on carbs and springs that expand and contract with heat.

do you have the down loaded manual from this sight or did you buy one and if you have a hard copy what the dates on the first page after the part number. If your using the down loaded manual that has the touring its ok as I have that one also if its the early addition look in the 11. 117 to 11.119 area throttle cable adjustment its in the fuel systems management section.

I found a service manual online and on page 1.31 it shows the routing of the throttle cable.
Am I removing these cables or just loosening them up?
I downloaded a copy. I'll get the cables. How do I do this adjustment?
I think I'm going to do this on Saturday. I'll have more time

no problem there is fine adjustment up at the throttle grip but the manual will tell you and its right major adjustment is down where the throttle cables mount to the throttle bodies. You really have to look as I recently had to adjust mine and the people that worked on it obviously do not check these things out. they just slap the sheet together and send her down the road thinking it must have been right when it showed up yet three pistons were broken on their set up. Just saying its only right if you verify its right.
Oh except @Neville Lush racing in which I have heard great things about him being quite persnickety.
which is a good thing. I think the Falcon deserves some of his workmanship even though its at the bottom of the world

I understand the tune ECU now that I've had time to research it a bit. I did this adjustment last year when I changed out my PTPS. I just didn't know anything about the stepper motor or what to look for. I'll plug in and check the .60V at closed. I didn't go any further because I was only having a problem in idle. It would stay at or above 3K RPMs.
Now I'll check this and move on to the open position and check for the .75V. What do I need to adjust if this isn't correct?

You are not pulling the cables we are going to insure they have proper free play in them. Pull cable gets checked up on the throttle grip return cable free play is Checked on the throttle wheel of the throttle body. After we check them we will decide if they need adjustment or if yours is fine. I will snap a picture out of the manual in which I am not sure which years manual you have but it will be in the Fuel system management section. Also if you can post a picture of the fine adjusters up top so I can see that you have the ability to adjust them either way it would be great. Not that we are going to use them I just want to make sure you could if needed in either direction on both. Otherwise you would end up like the people who put my bike back together and not have adjustment up there.
Remember we first check and verify proper free play in both cables. With any luck yours are fine but if not we will make sure they are before we move on. Enjoy your ride its to hot down here so I am stuck working except I did get to cook for myself for the first time in a few months. I just got tired of fast food so I made some Kiszka, fried in onions and garlic with some Kabanosy as a poor mans seasons. The egg is for added Cholesterol
