Hello, wife and I bought ourselfs a R3T as a Christmas present and have been enjoying it. It's a great ride, needs a little more exhaust noise and wife says a better seat - can't quite last a whole tank before needing a break.

Also ride a 73 Commando with Dunstall exhaust, great ride but not for 2.

This is my second Triumph triple, I bought the first one in town 40 years ago.

WELCOME TO THE ROCKET COMMUNITY :bch:

And congrats on your Trident past. There are not many bikers left who can claim they rode one (or its twin sister, the BSA Rocket, in my case);)

Congrats on the bike. I bought mine last June. Overall, I like the bike pretty well. I've been slow to change a couple of things I didn't like, but I'm just about to correct the last one so I think I'll start digging it more now. The windshield was too short for me and the bars were kind of a reach (that extra inch I have to stretch makes a difference). I just replaced the stock windshield with the Roadster ($210, blade only) and have the Rivco risers ($180) on order. They'll bring the bars back 2 inches. That's all I need.

As far as seats, Triumph has two other two-up seats for the R3T, the Long Haul and a gel seat. I bought the Long Haul solo seat (wife doesn't ride that often) and it's plenty comfortable. Then again, the stock seat is fine too as far as I'm concerned, I just wanted a rider backrest and the look of a solo seat. Plus, I weigh 150 if you soak me down good with water so pretty much any seat has enough padding for my rear end.

Hallo Ygransom...good choice.
Greetings from Germany.
I got the Raask exhaust, and i am quite happy with the noise now.
Its Illegal in Germany ....but how do say in the USA
so what:D

Daryl -

how much taller is the Roadster blade than teh stock windshield. That is a change I am looking at.

Yes - that how we say it - everthing I own has parts labeled "not for use on public roads", but since I don't own my own road I use them on "our" roads anyway.

I think they're advertised as 6 inches taller, but the dealer measured mine and it was 7.25 inches taller. I'm 5'10" and I pretty much look through the shield by an inch or two. I may have it cut down a little, but I doubt it. I like being able to read the paper and cut coupons while I ride. :D

Welcome to the forum. Seats do not seam to be Triumph's strong point. My wife and I like the Corbin, but there are other options like Russel Day-long. Congrats on the new Rocket it just gets better.

Welcome to the site, we need experienced triple riders and that Norton is a sweet machine. Try and make it out to RAAIV if you can.
