Electrical Blackout pushing start button???

Thanks Guys,

Bike on original pipes no louder than a 6 cyl truck..... So his wife is still smiling :0)

Thinking about it, is it possible that the bike reset after disconnecting the battery - to reset? Does it have a shut down mode if you do not show up for the scheduled service 16000 miles and the ecu says enough?

Just not sure if the cleaning of the battery posts was the fixing factor or the disconnection of the battery allowing it to reset / restart?. Anybody have some experience?

No no shut down mode. Nothing will show in the ecu. Since its a 05 research things to attend to that might not be in the book. Greasing the rear drive shaft. Headlight bypass to save the ignition. Ect. Ect.

Pretty sure all you had was a loose/corroded connection probably at the battery. If tightening/cleaning the connections didn't work, the battery would have been suspect as DEcosse suggested.

Welcome to the site. Talk to your neighbour to see what's been done to the bike in terms of updates or recalls.
