Differences between old three exhasts and new two style

I must be one of the minority who think Triumph nailed it when it comes to the pipes. The design of the header leaves alot to be desired but the three pipes slightly splayed out the back looks awesome I reckon.
30 extra pounds with those 2 extra mufflers and plumbing Id rather have a proper 3 into 1 pipe

Each to their own, my bags add to the weight too and so does the back rest, as does alot of other things I could remove. This is not a sports bike to me, it's a cruiser.
YOU can lose over 40 lbs and gain 40+hp with a Carpenter 3 into 1 exhaust thats what Im talkin about

100% agree! As @dougl said the define they Rocket III, there's no mistaking you're riding something different when there's three pipes hanging out the back  I won't be changing it to lose a few pounds.

What have you started!!!!!!
I am picturing a garage somewhere in the burbs of Australia eminating with the sweet dulcet tones of Judith Durham , every now and then punctured by the raucous sounds of highly tuned Rocket ! :inlove :inlove

It looks like Art has the mindset of a racer, where every lb and hp matters. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I rarely have WOT and wheelied only a couple of times on my first Rocket. Once on an open highway with no cars I had it up to 130 mph. After getting stopped at 90 in a 45 mph zone, and having a merciful cop who wrote me up for 60, I changed my riding attitude.
