Getting rid of the stock headers, cat bypass, TORs loses lots of weight and mass robs hp. The Carps are but a small fraction of the stock/TOR heft so you should gain some quickness right up front. I slapped the Carps on about an hour ago and they really do look choice:D Will need to fashion some form of spacer for my NOS as the pipes displace more than an inch of additional lateral space from the head. Gotta friggin' admit though, it's gonna look wicked!
don't forget the most important thing................. velcro lined Gloves to help You HOLD ON!! have Fun:D

dude, how do you get excessive noise from tors?

:D Funny

Its more noise than I wanted it sounds as if it running with just the headers on..
Not very sweet to the ear infact a tractor would discribe the sound, I leave home in a complex at 5am and my neighbors are nice people...I want to keep them that way:cool:

You can turn the tips to face down so the sound does not blare out the sides, worked for me. Also the TOR's mellow with use.

Thanks for the tip GL I use the bike every day and work in Perth city center, if I was outside the city I wouldn't worry.

I had truckies slowing down so I would pass and cars pulling over and the decell growl was unreal  LOL

I am running it a bit miss mash not fully set up until tripples arrive..
I have cheated I put 2 stock cans back on with the lower 1 a TOR bit better noise at the low end until I open it up :D still performs well I was surprised

Dump the heavy, low performing TORs, as I did, and get some Carpenter's!!! Several levels of magnitude cooler, much lighter and more power to boot! The TORs are certainly better than stock but Carps, or even Jars, are far superior. Ride happy regardless of farter choice!

I hear what you are saying drac thanks.. but I like the original splay x3 and I couldnt afford Staintunes at this time, which sound far better by all accounts..

So cheap but a little nasty by coarse farting sound I guess..
But on the bright side inginuity and making mods is interesting so I will fiddle a bit and see what I can come up with my on my $300 bargain :D

I actually like the TORS sound (and performance) but I also have to be mindful of neighbours. Staintunes have a deeper rumble and seem to a fair bit quieter - or more subdued - unless you're giving it to it like Hanso does when he takes off!!! I think if I was going to change to Staintunes I'd go for a Roadster set up, though, unless I stumled on a bargain as Hanso and Mitch did. I wouldn't mind shedding some weight so perhaps a 3 into 1 some time down the track (I'd like dibs on TC's thanks ). Meanwhile I'll just continue going easy with the TORS in certain places.

My D&D's make my bike sound like a six cylinder car with glass packs. Not bad, just different. Unless you go to a chamber muffler, the glass pack style baffle is the best you will get. And that is not as good as a chamber muffler. But we don't have the room for that. I will stay with my D&D's for now. They could be re baffled by D&D with 2" baffles, but the inlet pipes are still 1 3/4",,,,unless I change that when I finish my header. :D
