Hey,

Well, after mulling it over for a year and locating a local Corbin dealer I think I want to get the Beetles. The only problem is I have a D&D slip-on exhaust and neither Corbin or D&D can tell me if these will fit. As you can imagine, the dealer needs a deposit to order the bags but that's a lot of money to shell out for a potential fitting nightmare.

I ride a 2010 Roadster. Has anyone managed to fit these with the D&D slip-ons?

I've hunted pretty deeply on all the forums but can't find anything and nothing beats practical experience.

Thanks!
Paul

Paul,
I don't have any practical experience with the D&D's and Beetle bag combination,
that said, see if this makes sense to you.
The D & D's look a lot like the stock and TOR exhaust,
EXCEPT they're more open for a louder tone and they go straight out
instead of angled up and out.
Since they hang lower, there shouldn't be any problem with mounting both
as the design of the D & D's is along the lines of the stock exhaust,
only straight out instead of upswept...
IF that's the combination I wanted, I sure wouldn't hesitate to get it,
it's close enough you can "make" it work.....
just my take on it.

I would agree with Skip. The D&D's don't angle up as high as the stockers so I don't think there will be a problem.

I have an '11 Roadster and the Beetle bags. They should clear the DD's. The bottom of the bag is at the same height of the passenger peg towards the front then angles slightly up from there towards the back. They rest about 1" above the stock pipes. I can get you some more accurate measurements if you need.

Side note. When you get the bags, look them over good. Paint quality and lid fit are sometimes perfect other times not so much..... I've had three sets of Corbin bags.

I'll look them over once the dealer gets them. I decided to pay a little extra and have them installed through the dealer when they're doing my spring safety check. They made it clear they'd go to bat for me if there are any finish issues and they've been pretty good to me so far.

Ordered them yesterday! Can't wait for spring.

Just updated my info.

I'm in Calgary, Alberta. It's snowy here right now so we only get 6 months of riding, sometimes a bit more.

I figured I'd get some bags so I have them for next season.

head South,
it's suppose to be 67F here tomorrow,
We could ride all weekend or really
Lupe could ride with ya all weekend,
ii'll be at work...
But you could stay at my place .....
Free food, beer, and bed for rocket captains..
No use putting up with all that cold weather....
