When you are no where near a Triumph dealer and need a splash of coolant, what brand are you guys using?

I dropped by an Autozone store to see if they had any motorcycle coolant, not. Anyhow the manual states the 50/50 glycol mixture (green). I guestioned the counter guy about using the old green Prestone and he said no, it is not recommended for aluminum engines. They had other Autozone stuff, blue, that was but I was always told not to mix colors. Kind of like doing the laundry

4,585 miles so far on our trip. We are in Mammoth Lakes, CA headed for Pacifica, CA tomorrow, Reno, Boise, Cody, Gillette, then 5 days recuperating in Sturgis.

Go to a Honda M/C dealer and buy Honda coolant. It's silica free and won't wear out water pump seals. Good stuff for all motorcycles.

+1 on the Honda pre-mix....used to be only $4/quart six months ago...now it's $6.75/qt. You can also buy it by the gallon at Honda car dealers for a bit cheaper. I order it online when I buy OEM parts and usually spend enough to get free shipping and no sales tax.

50/50 pre-mix coolant
Honda Oils & Chemicals Part Number: HO-3922614 - Direct Line Parts

crush washers
Honda OEM Parts Part Number: HO-0171876x10 - Direct Line Parts

filters
Honda Part Number: 15410-MFJ-D01 - Direct Line Parts

I use it in all 3 of our bikes and buy it by the case. The Honda motorcycle oil filters for our VTX and Valkyrie are a direct fit for the Rocket and so are the 14mm aluminum crush washers. Saves to buy these in bulk. Use Mobil 4T 10w40 in all the bikes too....makes it easy to remember.

Rick, have you been riding with out antifreeze all this time???

Thanks for the input.

VERY funny Lupe, lol. At least it was in the 50's and 60'' most the way through Yosemite.:

We are in Pacifica, CA tonight headed for Reno tomorrow.

Got some great pics to put up on our website.
