Hi
first ride of 2018 and first time the Rockets been out of the Garage for about a month roads were almost dry but filthy dirty on a cold 5 degree (centigrade that is) but sunny winter afternoon here in the Uk .
Was wanting a ride as I have fitted a couple of bit and pieces
1, Gone from a black sports screen to a clear one liking this look much more
2, Finally fitted V-Trek levers and I can report they are great fit and feel good with lots of adjustment either way and of course look much better than stock ones very happy with these
3, To go with the levers I replaced the front brake pipes with Hel pipes
instead of one pipe split to the callipers these are two stainless pipes from the master cylinder straight to each calliper and a vast improvement in lever feel .
It would appear the trick to bleeding these brakes is pump and bleed as normal getting it as good as you can then force the pistons back as far as they go I think this has the effect of forcing any trapped air back up to the master cylinder pump repeat a couple of times ...solid lever that I can no longer force back to the bar much better
3, Replaced headlights with LED items no idea if there better in the dark but they do look good were cheap and easy to fit
4, Triumph satin black oval mirrors nice and wide very useful for changing lane on motorway's / freeways
and look way better than stock
5, Gone back to original Triumph single seat removed rear pegs and blanked off
6, Painted headers and heat shields black VHT paint happy with this look
7, Enjoy noise from slightly wonky fitment ( this apparently is standard but they were used so I'm kind of OK with this as I didn't pay full ££££££ price ) Dave Platt short exhaust ....they do sound good
8, Oil / filter change to Motul 5100 4T maybe a little smother on the down change
The roads were awful and my tyres were cold but enjoyed a 45 minute ride around town all the same
Roll on summer
