Brightest, Best, Sexiest LED Headlights !!!

yeah yesterday was a stinker even down here they reckon we got to 44C =111.F that is the hottest ever here but then around PM we got a beaut sou-eater and the temp drop C in an hour and Sydney went to 46C = 114.F highest recorded temp ever in Sydney, today is spot on for riding a pleasant 22C = 71.F paradise again, not sure if this true but heard from a work colleague this weather extremes is partly due to a some Meteor coming past out in space funnily I have not heard this offically of course but I guess if a huge fireball came past within a few million miles it might upset our weather system :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
Basically the buckets have a mounting bracket which is rivet to the inside of bucket. You have to drill it out and re-rivet to the outside of the bucket. Then literally shave the corner of heat sink on rest of light by .25 of a mm.
'kin'ell - that's brave on something that expensive. BUT they do indeed look **** sexy.

I have read that the LED lights sold by H/D are also made by JW-SPEAKER - and there is a suggestion that the H/D 5&3/4" units are a slightly different shape to the rear than the original 8630. No idea if this is the case - and they're not available (yet) in the EU. But US based guys could maybe take a look and see. They are US DOT approved.
 
Yeah, HD do install the JW's on some of their CVo's but they are a different shape as bottom is flat and the centre has a hd logo

But I think clearances would be an issue. Shame as the 7" Speakers put out EVEN MORE light. Any chance of a night time road lit up shot? - This is GOING to get done but we're trying to see if we can make some custom shells with open backs for better cooling.

yep. complete plug and play from wiring perspective. . . . well for the main lights but parking lights are now obsolete. basically both head lights are h4 connectors though. so as easy as plug in and your off.

The €-marked 8630's I have found over here also have the parking light built in.

QUESTION for PONTERS. Obviously you had to modify to get the units in.

Before you drilled and re-riveted the mounting plate - how far out of the shell were they?. I'm looking to get some form of adapter kit made up.

I'll also be pestering a mate here to have some Triumph specific billet shells made. I have a design done with an open back to aid cooling.

btw - It seems Harley have hit a similar clearance issue. They've issued a mounting kit for certain bikes with 5&3/4" lights - basically a new headlamp shell. USD60. Black too. Harley XL1200X 06-later Dyna 5-3/4 LED Headlamp Housing Kit

I'll be ordering my set of 8630's this week coming. Still on the fence regarding matching fog lights. I've already converted the OEM Triumph Fogs to LED plus another similar set (badged as Shin-Yo) as pencil beams.

They missed our by about 2-3 mm. I too was thinking of making a bracket up as a slightly deeper ring to replace the stock trumpy one but given I was impatient I went the mod route.

Id be keen to see what you come up with.

I went the PIAA led spotties which are awesome little things. Very happy with them. That said seeing the JW's headlights in action, the quality of manufacture and performance I wreckon their spotties would be pretty bloody brilliant.
