I'm having Thunderbird risers fitted and need longer brake lines and cables as the dealer tells me the standard ones aren't long enough
Has anyone replaced their standard lines and cables for extended ones.
And if it's not to much trouble how much longer than standard do they need to be.
I would appreciate any help

Don't know about the T'Bird risers, but if they're like the Rivco risers you don't need longer cables. You only need to route the clutch cable outside the plastic frame cover. As I recall the Rivco risers are two inches up and one back but you should check their website for specs to compare to the T'Bird.

Classic clutch cables are 3 inches longer than Standard. I would try the cables and lines you have before purchasing any new ones. I have a set of Thunderbike (NZ) fat T-Bars that i've had heightened 3 inches and i've been able to get cables and wiring to switchblocks reach with a bit of re-routing.

Someone on here has fitted thunderbird risers and did not need to change cables . I will see if i can find the thread but i remember it was a uk rider. get back to you.

FOUND HIM LARAZA check his post thundrbird risers fitted.

Thanks for the reply's guys.
Harry the T'Bird risers are taller so with my standard bars the cables are to short even when rerouted.
Tomcat as far as I know the switch wires are ok.
Hooky Laraza is using Roadstar bars with the T'Bird risers, that's why his cables were ok.
Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and invest in new cables

You were right on the money Tomcat
And by the way guys, Does anyone know the length of the throttle & clutch cables ?
Also the length of the brake line needed for the ABS
I can't look myself as the dealer has had the bike from last Monday
And again I really appreciate the help.

I am using Rocket RoadstEr bars not Yamaha RoadstAr bars, just thought I'd clarify in case of any confusion

I have got all the measurements I needed for the cables & brake line
So if anyone wants to use Thunderbird risers with their standard bars just give me a shout and I will gladly let you have the info

I'm having to go with longer cables also. The t bars I have on. Need to come up and back the cables are at their limits. I'm looking at a set of 3.5 adjustable ROX Risers I will need about 3.5 inch on all cables. What are the lengths you came up with. For the stock cables. Thanks
