Bike... 2008 Rocket 3 standard.

So.... got my new exhaust installed... very sweet. Had a fellow captain help me out loading a tuneecu file (tune number 20050TOR_Dyno.hex) runs much better than with the triumph tors tune. My problems.

tune info :
Triumph Rocket III All years Triumph off road pipes and Triumph cat box eliminator Dyno result was 157ftlb
and 145hp Full power in all gears, speedo corrected.

1) when i first fire it up in the morning it fire's then dies. Fires then dies. I have to use the throttle lock to keep it bumped up a tad so it won’t die)

2) When cruising 35 mph it hiccup’s and bucks forwards and backwards. Mostly 3rd gear and when slightly downhill.

3) There is an off idle dead spot that makes it very interesting coming out of corners. best way to describe it is similar to a two stroke power band.

4) idle is very eratic and loppy like it's cammed out. very low aswell.

hope this is descriptive enough

thanks,
Steve

Had it into the shop saturday. was told that it was an adjustment issue. adjusted the tps, cleaned the crank angle sensor on the bottom, balanced the throttle bodies, reset the adaptives all of that was done. ran "ok" till the next day when it just started surging and wont stay running when it's cold.

sorry, should have mentioned that at the get go.

Three things
1)try cleaning the crank angle sensor
2) what exhaust are you running
3) send me your e-mail in a pm and I'll send you a couple of good relieable TuneECU tunes
one last thing did you follow the full procedure including reseting the adaptive after you downloaded the tune

and lastly think about the PCV + AT

It sounds Lean to me..

Prior to fitting Ex it was OK...right ?

You fitted the Ex.. did you start it just after the fitting?
If so it would have possibly run as is now..

You loaded the tune thinking it would suit your Mods from the tune discription, right?
Could it be the tune in the ECU is still your Original ?

Was anything else touched ?

What Ex did you fit ?

Seems to me so far the only engine related thing you change was the ECU map file.
Was the Bike hooked up to a Battery charger/tender?

You Need full Battery voltage during ECU remapping as ECU circuits are some times affected by lower voltages.

Video TuneECU proceerdure.
TuneECU (free TuneBoy & TuneECU) software demo on Triumph Tiger 1050 SE - YouTube

Double checking..
I would be hooking the Battery up to a Tender, plugging the Laptop into Mains Supply
and following the Video below ..I would try another suitable Tune :)
