My bike has 30 K on it so I decided to change the fuel filter . Being Frugal ( cheap) I decided to check out the alternative filters. I found one from Wix PN 33032 that fits perfectly. Their tech support said it has a burst pressure rating of 60 PSI, which is more than the 42 to 44 Psi the fuel pump will put out. Cost was about $6.00 w/ tax. I also changed out the fuel lines. Be sure to use the high pressure clamps not the cheaper worm clamps.

I'll log that Wix part number in my spreadsheet for future reference, under "Triumph".

Thanks for sharing.

Wish I would have read this post before I ordered the Triumph fuel filter....

I'll probably be changing mine this weekend... any tips?

To change the fuel filter, should I just remove the clamps, change the filter, and replace the clips?
Or should I go through the 100 step process in the shop manual and remove the fuel pump etc.... ?
It looks to me like it would be adequate to just replace the fuel filter, or do I need to do the rest to access it or something?

And, is it really necessary to change it out at 20,000 miles?

It is not as complicated as it sounds in the manual. Once you get the assembly out, there are just a few bolts holding the fuel pump, and all the other stuff on. I would suggest taking the pump off, since the fuel lines are short, and hard to manipulate. It has been a while since I did mine, but if I can manage it without breaking something, anyone can.:) From what I remember, the hardest part is getting the whole assembly out of the tank, since the float is not easy to get out along with the rest of the assembly. I used a brake spring tool to pull the float up, and hold it, while I pulled the rest out. Hope this helps. It is not too bad.
