Air Filter replacement.

How about a template? Wo knows you piper cross might pull good on the dyno. This will be a opportunity to see.
Bob said just looking at it, he doesn't believe it will, and I'd do best with the 4040s if I want to run a filter. It's the best he's tested.

Yes a template would be great. Hopefully I can use it to trim the one I already have.

I am not sure how your filter is mounted mine is using the OEM stacks I sure would be interested in seeing what it does if you can get him to try it? Of course if it does not use the OEM Bell mouths it won't be quite the same as mine still I am interested I feel no difference on mine between the 4040's and the PiperCross but that is just feel not a machine reading.
The bracket on the filter can be made of anything even some 1/8 aluminum strip you can buy at Lowes Hans painted it red and put the sticker on from the K&N filter box/ He uses a mount behind it made from a hose clamp I will get shots of this for you but tomorrow I am off to Speedy's for his personal front suspension modification I AM STOKED FOR THE RIDE AND THE MOD :)

With luck I will have the beast at the TT Grand National Races this weekend. Maybe they will bring in a dyno drag or a dyno shoot out that would be fun :)

I did the stock velocity stacks just like you had posted. Maybe I can talk him into trying it since it will already be on the dyno.

Good luck at the races. Let us know how you do.

OH I am not racing its dirt track the grand nationals are here every year. Even get blokes from OZ compete. Of course if a dyno drag shows up I might be tempted but would have to remove the beetle bags I believe. Either way it is our big bike event and a blast !!!!

Are the optional larger K&Ns used by some the RX-4040-1???
How does the strap across the top work?

@1olbull steve, those on Scott's bike are the 4040s. There's a taller option as well; I run the 1770s. A little dirty in this pic, but normally run with blue oil to match the bike ;)
