Finally got hold of the alternator removal tool and split the cases. Id say i was shifting to third from 2nd when the clutch gave way and the result is as you see below...



Tall one is 3rd out and short one is 3rd in

Sux indeed - they were the first gears to be replaced in the initial rebuild, wouldn't have 5k km on them
