I can see it has had the update kit in it from this picture and the one below.



Looks like the gears been hit hard by the dogs of the male gear would like to se ethe pictures of the mating male gear if you have it. I am interested in how the dogs that mesh faired out.

On the plus side this is definetly fixable.

These engines are tough






But they do break, mine is my fault as I am the one who decided on this search for maximu horse power .
 

Of course if its just the gears then they took the head and cams of for no reason except to charge more money for labor? Unless the tensioner failed and the valves hit the pistons?
 
the area rep tried to claim that I had water in my rear differential my rear end, it went bad before I ever went to dark side or started pulling a trailer mine ended up being a bearing in the differential. Driveshaft in good shape. We really have no complaints try keeping up a Harley Davidson

This was the other guys bike. Transmission AFTER an upgrade kit had been installed. Gear shattered ? Just another MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT for another poor soul.
 

Rust could not form in that thick of a configuration at that wear point for one thing. Its the really thick RED synthetic grease the mechanic uses. My issue now is, are they using the correct grease or whats sitting on the bench in a Harley shop. I bought the Honda stuff for the next one.

Sadly, I fear that there is some other issue at work here. I go now to look at Japanese offerings.
 
I had this happen to my bike about four years back. i took the wheel off to have a look after reading about this problem. My diff and drive shaft was very dry and damaged. i went to dealer and they said it was fine and they where not required by Triumph to lube it,Well i went straight to the top man here ,who in turn went to UK and they replaced my diff and shaft, Triumph all so said the shaft and diff should be lubed at tyre changes as a minimum .I have since had no wear or trouble since, i lube at least once a year ,
 
Sounds as if no one believes I lubed the b*st=rd. Guess because I am Appalachian you probably also believe I didn't bathe this morning .
